About Us

Welcome

Thank you for checking out our website. Our purpose as a faith community is Connecting Lives to Christ, Serving God and neighbor and Living our Faith. We exist to connect all people to Jesus, his message of hope and his saving love. Further, his love compels us to serve God and to serve our neighbor both near and far. We believe that through prayer, worship, stewardship and faith formation we are able to live a Jesus centered life here on earth and follow God’s call to the best of our human ability. We welcome all ages, races, creeds, abilities, genders, orientation to come and see what God is doing among this faith community.

Nourish

We believe that the Bible is the source and norm for all of our living. It is a Holy Spirit inspired document with numerous human authors written over the course of hundreds of years. We read the Bible to learn more about the nature of God and what our response could be to God’s incredible love and grace. Every Sunday in worship Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregations hear God’s word from the Scriptures, pray as Jesus taught and come to the Lord’s Table expecting to receive the mercies that the Triune God promises. Throughout the week ELCA members continue to live by faith, serving others freely and generously in all that they do because they trust God’s promise in the Gospel. In small groups and at sick beds, in private devotions and in daily work, this faith saturates all of life.

Christ Centered

We believe and confess that Jesus is the son of God who was born, lived, died and was raised from the dead. We confess God as Triune, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; not three gods, but rather three ways that God is revealed in our lives. As best we can, we follow the teachings of Jesus, however, we realize that in our humanness, we cannot be perfect because, “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” So, we continue to strive to learn Gods will, to do God’s will and to love as we have been first loved. On some level, we recognize our own brokenness and this realization compels us in our need for a Savior. We proclaim that Jesus is that Savior!

Empower

We believe it is our MISSION to love and serve others. We are called and privileged to participate in God’s work in the world. God calls and empowers us for mission through baptism. As a community of believers justified by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8), we do not describe mission in terms of our own work but with reference to the healing, salvation, and restoration that God accomplishes through Christ. Grounded in God’s love and forgiveness, we are equipped to live and serve here and now, in the world. Thus, we are always looking for ways to be Christ to others.

Our Vision

Because we believe that the power of God’s love transforms us, Immanuel seeks to be a place that welcomes, nourishes and empowers all people to grow in faith. We will be a place that intentionally engages youth and young adults by valuing their unique gifts and ideas, as we value everyone’s gifts, young and old alike. Immanuel will be an active, Christ centered leader in our community by being a church that shares the hope, grace and love of Jesus Christ to all people in word and in deed.
